Apple

Apples are fruits  which are rich in fiber, phytochemicals, and flavonoids. According to the National Cancer Institute of the United States, Most of apples contain flavonoids compared with other fruits. According to the report, This substance can reduce the risk of a disease and lung cancer by 50 percent.
2001, Mayo Clinic research proved that quacertin (a type of flavonoids contained in apples) may help prevent prostate cancer cell growth. Phytochemicals in apples will serve as antioxidants that fight bad cholesterol (LDL, Low Density Lipoprotein). Bad cholesterol (LDL, Low Density Lipoprotein) potentially clog blood vessels.
Antioxidants will prevent damage to cells or vascular tissue. At the same time, the antioxidants will increase good cholesterol ,(HDL, High Density Lipoprotein), which is useful for preventing heart disease and blood vessels. The content of pectin (soluble fiber contained in fruits and vegetables), has been studied and shown to reduce levels of cholesterol in the blood. A recent study, it is evident that in apple found D-glucaric acid which can control cholesterol levels.
D-glucaric acid can reduce cholesterol up to 35 percent. Cholesterol levels are maintained and antioxidants will protect against heart attacks and strokes. This is evident in a study in Finland in 1996. People whose diets contain phytochemicals, low risk for cardiovascular illness. Other studies, as quoted in The British Medical Journal revealed that apples also prevents the occurrence of stroke.
Phytochemical substances found in apple skin, according to a study at Cornell University in the United States. It is useful inhibits colon cancer cell growth by 43 percent. Phytochemicals and flavonoids together reportedly also reduce the number of lung cancer incidence.
Meanwhile, another study at Welsh UK, showed that regular consumption of apples will make lungs function more better. Researchers believe will be better respiratory function because the content of phytochemicals in apples by reducing the negative effects of oxidants that damage organs. The fiber content was calculated apples high, amounting to five grams per medium-sized fruit.
This amount is higher than the fiber content on most cereal products. Fiber is beneficial for digestion and weight loss. The fruit is almost no fat and cholesterol. It is suitable to be included as a menu of people who are dieting. Complaints such as constipation on the diet, it will not happen if the person is included as part of the apple menu. Although useful to overcome constipation, apples also have properties to relieve diarrhea. This according to Miriam Polunnin in his book Healing Foods. According to the book, apple is very beneficial for digestion.
A study in 1978, Konowalchuck published other benefits of apples. Konowalchuck mentioned that cider was proven effective against a variety of viral infections attack. With the apple cider, stamina and immunity would be better. This condition can prevent the body from virus attacks, especially at the turn of the season today. In addition to the content of the substances mentioned above.
Apples also contain high concentrations of tannin. This tannin (as written Journal of the American Dental Association in 1998) contain substances that can prevent tooth decay and gum disease caused by a stack of plaques. Moreover, tannins also serves to prevent urinary tract infection and lower the risk of heart disease.
